About
An independent hub for Central Ontario
CentralOntario.ca brings the region's destinations, trip guides, events and tourism businesses into one place, so a visitor can plan a trip across more than one community.
Why the region, not one town
Muskoka, Parry Sound, Simcoe County, Southern Georgian Bay, the Haliburton Highlands, the Kawarthas and Algonquin share a geography, a season and an audience. Visitors rarely stay inside one municipal boundary, but the information they need usually does. The hub exists to join those pieces together.
How content gets here
Destinations and trip guides are written and maintained by the hub. Business listings and events come from the operators and organisers themselves, and every one of them is reviewed before it is published. Anything shown as a sample listing is a placeholder, marked as such, used while real submissions come in.
What we measure
The hub records the activity that happens on it: searches, region and listing views, saved places, and clicks through to an operator’s own website. Those numbers are reported to operators, partners and funders as aggregates. They are never estimated, never borrowed from another source, and no visitor data is sold.
Reviews and bookings
The hub does not publish reviews or ratings, and it does not display availability or take bookings. When a listing has a commercial relationship with the hub, such as a sponsored placement, that is labelled on the listing itself.
