Trent-Severn Waterway
A 386-kilometre working waterway of lakes, rivers and locks linking Lake Ontario with Georgian Bay, passing lock-side towns through the Kawarthas.
The waterway threads together natural lakes and canal cuts, with locks lifting boats through the Kawartha lakes and on to Lake Simcoe and Georgian Bay. The Peterborough Lift Lock, Lock 21, is the highest hydraulic lift lock in the world. Lock-side towns are the easiest places to watch boats move through.
