Autumn is the busiest season on this shoreline, so book accommodation well ahead and expect crowds at the lookouts on weekend afternoons. Check opening hours at the wineries and conservation areas, and bring layers for the wind off the bay.

  1. Day 1Walk out to the escarpment edge for a view over the bay in the morning, then ride or walk a stretch of the Georgian Trail into Thornbury for lunch and the harbour. Finish the day at Craigleith for sunset.
  2. Day 2Drop into the Beaver Valley for Eugenia Falls, then work back through the orchards and farm stands near Meaford. Book a tasting at one of the escarpment wineries for the afternoon before heading home.
