Muskoka works best at a slow pace: drive the lakes, stop in the towns, and leave the evening open. The roads between Port Carling, Bala and Bracebridge take longer than the map suggests in summer traffic.
- Day 1Morning in Bracebridge around the falls and the main street, then drive north along the lakes to Port Carling to watch the locks lift boats between Lakes Muskoka and Rosseau.
- Day 2The Gravenhurst wharf and its steamship heritage in the morning, then an evening at Torrance Barrens once the sky is properly dark.
